Walk up Monte Urgull, San Sebastian. This walk starts from the old town port marina or alternately from the Aquarium, winds around the hill among shaded trees slowly to reach the Castillo de la Mota. At the top and along the way you get various lookout vistas and panoramic views of San Sebastián city. (allow about 30 minutes leisurely walk up)
Hiking in Gavarnie, Pyrenees, France. (The Caousillet Trail) This walk is about 3 km one way starting from the village of Gavarnie along a stream, through an open field, tree shaded path, genltle gravel slope and finally reaching the snow covered foothill of a majestic mountain cliff. Beyond this peak and just 2 km is the border with more arid spanish range. In the summer, many hikers would criss-cross between France and Spain. Allow a leisurely one hour up and one hour back to the village. Try drinking from the clear water stream which is very refreshing. (pictures taken in April)
